Three delicious boxes of Manos arrived today. Inside were new colors of their luscious silk blend, and kilos and kilos of the new Rittenhouse Merino 5 Ply. The colors are amazing and it feels fabulous. Even better, each tag tells you the name of the artisan from the Manos collective that dyed your yarn.
Zauberball, the amazing new sock yarn from Zitron (makers of Trekking XXL) arrived today. The colors are gorgeous, especially this one. It's totally Nathania color! Ellie agrees.
Miss Jean, our vintage dressform sports the Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky scarf we just wove up on the little Cricket rigid heddle loom. It wove up all fluffy and soft. We're delighted!
Nathania and Kaye have been having fun at the dye pots, and now the fiber is dry and ready to spin. Look at those wonderful colors! Come see some for yourself!
Sandi, Nathania, and Kaye took the shop to the CAYA Harvest Home Festival in eastern Santa Clara county on Sunday while Kevin minded the shop. It was a small festival but it was good practice for taking our shop on the road. Here is what our little shop away from shop looked like:
We took the Cricket Loom with us and worked on a piece using Cascade Baby Chunky Alpaca. It's going to be a really lovely warm scarf when it's done.

This is 2 pounds of Corriedale pencil roving that I just finished spinning on my Ashford Joy. I love my little Joy, it's such a versatile wheel, I can do anything on it.
This is an Aran weight four ply. It came up really even in color so switching around on the bobbins for plying really worked well.
I am going to make the Bookworm Vest from Interweave's Folk Vests by Cheryl Oberle from it. I can't wait to get it finished.
I finished the Kaffe scarf on the Wolf Pup this morning. All in all, I put in about 4 hours in the actual weaving and used seven balls of the Kaffe Fassett Regia 6 Ply, 5 in the warp, less than 2 in the weft. It measures 86" excluding the fringe. I am completely hooked. I spent last night poring over weaving books, examining designs and techniques. Today I'm warping up some organic cotton to make holiday gifts. Weave on!
