Sandi's whipping up a cute little Soleil in the Frog Tree Picoboo, their luxurious Pima Cotton/Bamboo blend yarn. It's the perfect yarn for this tank, showing the lace edging off to perfection. This is a fast knit, since it's done entirely in the round. She's hoping to have it done in time to wear to Sock Summit next week!

Tonight while watching a movie, Ellie reached over to the side table and pulled my knitting project onto her lap. She grasped a needle tip in each hand and tapped them together, approximating the motion I make when I knit. I quickly grabbed the iPhone (it's great for these kind of moments) to capture it on video. "What are you doing, Ellie?" I asked. "Knitting," she replied. Gotta love that kid!

Our dear friend Laura joined us Friday afternoon for our dye workshop. She dyed five glorious skeins of sock yarn, unwittingly creating the most beautiful rainbow! Nicely done, Laura!
Here is Sandi knitting "Argyle Vest" in Rowan Felted Tweed from Color Style by Ann Budd and Pam Allen - Interweave Press while playing scrabble. The vest makes up quickly with a ribbed back for fit. The front will have irregular argyle diamonds in five additional colors.
She won the scrabble game too!
Kaye & Nathania spent today dyeing Purl Up & Dye for Sock Summit. At the end of the day they were proclaimed Evil Dyeing Geniuses. With turkey basters in hand they created amazing, unique colorways, in addition to the three Dye For Glory colorways. I found myself knitting my Two Fisted Tank from "Pints and Purls, Portable Projects for the Social Knitter" by Karida Collins and Libby Bruce at the River Inn
in Big Sur Tuesday night. Along with my knitting I had an Espresso
Martini. How appropriate, I thought, to be working on a project from a book for social knitters who's patterns are ranked by how many
drinks you can have and still knit that pattern.
This is one of the new book we have in the shop for your summer knitting pleasure.
The pattern is definitely one that can be knit while doing a bit of
drinking, it's a simple K2P2 rib. It's knit in summer friendly Cascade Cotton Club in Navy blue.

We're mere weeks away from Sock Summit now, and preparations are well under way. Nathania and Kaye have been dyeing Purl Up & Dye, our line of handpainted sock yarn. Each skein is completely unique, born of their inspiration at the dye table. Mitered squares are quick and easy to knit. The Conjoined Creations Lady Guinevere Scarf Kit contains three coordinating Flat Feet blanks in either warm or cool colors that make every project a little work of art. Nathania cast one on yesterday. She's randomly placing the colors as she comes to each block. So pretty; so addictive!
